I have a 15 week old Siberian Husky pup who
I love dearly, but he just keeps peeing in
his crate. When he is out and about in the
house he is fine. He will have an accident
once in a while, but he lets me know most of
the time when he has to go to the bathroom.
He doesn't doodle just pee's. Does anyone
have any suggestions?

Puppies are very clean and will, normally, not go to the washroom where they sleep or eat. This pup might need a trip outside before being crated...good idea anyways to do this as their little bladders can't hold much. Also, the bladder might not be developing as the dog is growing...probably want to take the pup to a vet and rule out any urinary tract infections...then let us know if that was or wasn't the problem.

Bleech the inside of the crate and replace all bedding so to remove the scent of urine completley, then make sure you let the puppy relieve itself BEFORE you put it in there.

How long do you leave the puppy in the crate?

Puppies are still learning how to control their bladder....they require you to be reasonable as to how long the pup will be required to hold it!

Cheers

Well, yes he did have a urinary tract infection, but that was treated. He had been
tested and the infection is gone.
At night before I put him in his crate he goes to the restroom. I go to bed about
10:30pm and I then get awaken close to 5:00am
Which is fine, because I have to start getting ready. I also stop giving him water
about 9:00pm. I leave for work by 7:30am and
I come home for lunch at 11:15am. I then get
home close to 5:00pm from work.
When I do get home his crate is just soaked.
Just like it is when I get up in the mornings
with him.
So, with your advise I will clean his crate
with that bleach.
what's a good age when thing start controling
there bladder?
Thanks for your help!!!!!

You might want the vet to check again and make sure the medication for the last infection cleared it all up!

However, you are leaving the pup in there too long. Also, if the dog is having accidents in the house you aren't taking it outside enouph to show the dog outside is where to go to the washroom. Some dogs are more stuborn than others..I know mine is terribley bull headed lol

When you are in the house. Keep the dog attached to you with a leash. Then as soon as the dog starts to urinate, clap or make a loud noise to stop the peeing, then immediatley go outside and praise when he does pee or other business outside!

Good luck and let me know how the progress goes!

Cheers
