I can't stop crying after seeing that! This should be used as a TV commercial. Words simply can not express my complete and utter shame of the human race I hope you don't mind but I have put this up on another board and I have sent it to a local newspaper to see if they can use this type of advertisment for the SPCA.... This has gotten me for the rest of my life...I am sooooo ready to go down to the pound and start rescuing allllll of them....my heart is broken [This message has been edited by shmoopie (edited 02-27-2003).] IP: Logged |

I feel the same as shmoopie, I would never breed any animal. My two are from the shelter and both were on their last day. I found them on www.amrt.net IP: Logged |

THAT WAS TRUELY ONE OF THE SADDEST THING i HAVE EVER SEEN.I AM A BREEDER,HAVE BEEN FOR A LONG TIME,BUT I WOULD NEVER SALE TO ANYONE WHO I DO NOT THINK WOULD REALLY LOVE AND TAKE CARE OF THEM.I HAVE A SALES CONTRACT WITH PEOPLE WHO BUY MY PUPPIE.IF FOR ANY REASON THEY CAN NO LONGER CARE FOR THEM,THAT THEY ARE TO BRING THEM BACK.PLUS,BEFORE THE PUPPY LEAVES MY HOUSE,THEY GO TO MY VET AND HAVE THE CHIP PUT IN.THAT WAY IF THEY ARE FOUND ON THE STREET THEY WILL CONTACT ME.IF I HAVE TO GO GET THEM THEN I TAKE THE OWNERS TO COURT AND FILE NEGLECT CHARGES AGINST THEM.I DO NOT PLAY AROUND WITH MY DOGS LIVES. that was so sad.. i have a puppy i rescued almost two weeks ago.. i haven't been able to find her a home that will love her and i just can't take her to the local shelter like everyone suggests to me.. instead i am shelling out my own $$ to get her shots and to treat her mange and hookworm.. i'm looking to find her a good loving home that won't allow something like that to ever happen to her.. if anyone is in the miami, fl area and would be able to provide a good home to her and would like to see her let me know!! seeing that helped me to realize spaying my own puppy was the best decision i could have made for her! That made me cry when I saw that. I too have a rescued dog. She was there exactly a month to the day when I brought her home. She is so sweet and loving and so attatched to me now. It just breaks my heart thinking that my baby could have ended up that way. Something needs to be done about irrespnsible breeders. I dont think there is anything wrong with breeding if you do it how pitbull princess does it. I think it should be mandatory that breeders have signed contracts stating that if anybody no longer wnats that pup that it comes back to the breeder. Some people need to realize that breeding those pups they have a lifelong commitment to protect those pups. IP: Logged |

I agree with you RottyMommy,it is a life time cummitment.I helped create these little lives it is my job to protect them and take care of them.A few of the other breeders around me,we have all signed a contact(between us).We have all agreed to do the same things, like putting in the microchips, background checks, ect. It is very important to use to protect these dogs.I just wish that more breeders would do the same. IP: Logged |

Hi danelover, I'm with you on this 100%. There are way tooooo many dogs in the world. Why do people try and create "new" breeds...what about the ones that already exist? My first dog I rescued from an idiot BYB and my next dog is going to be a rescue....I will always look to rescue the good dogs in the world. We need more people to wake up and SEE whats going on and to realize this world doesn't need "new" breeds. Cheers to you danelover! P.S.....lots look, just don't say much...atleast that's what I've noticed! IP: Logged |

It was a horrible thing to see. A good dog gone because of irresponsible people...shouldn't be happening. One question though......what the hell is the city of Atlanta thinking by "dumping" animal bodies in the city dump? The bodies should be incinerated to prevent disease and having rodents infesting the area? Wow. Dumb. IP: Logged |

Yeah Snoop....I can't even throw away my dogs crap...they throw it back at my house, but it's okay to dispose of the entire dog that way...apparentley? IP: Logged |

A lot of shelters don't have the funds to pay for the animals to be incinerated someplace. Some don't even put the dogs in bags, just load the bodies into trucks and dump them off (there have been accounts of dogs still alive being dumped off at the dumps). And there are a lot of worse ways to die at a shelter than by injection... too many shelters still use "outdated" methods like gas chambers (usually piping exhaust from a car into the chambers) or even shooting them (less common, but a few places still use this method). Yes it is sad . I think all of us mixed breed lovers agree with that but pure bred animals also end up the same way. As a matter of fact 1/4 of animals in pounds are so called perfect little purebreeds. Really I dont' think anyone should breed a dog period until all the ones we have are taken care of but it doesn't work that way. One another sad note our local shelter got caught shooting kittens in the head and buring them in the back of the pound., They won't even offer cats or kittens up for adoption.I am sure that changed once they got caught.
