my 10 year old black lab mix leaves marks in the snow that resemble blood
when i washed her blood seemed to rinse off her
the skin seems fine
doesn't seem to be too uncomfortable
smells bad
and is slightly disconcerting

Take her to a vet. You will not get the answer here. Only a vet will be able to locate the wound and suggest ways to "fix" it.

I agree, take the dog to a vet. It may also be something simple like she is infested with fleas....the waste they leave behind will look like blood when you wash a dog who has had fleas pretty bad.

Maisey is right, My sisters dog from the shelter had lost of fleas and all we had to do was pour water on her and watch the flea poop blood turn wet and into a bloody mess. Put her on advantage or something similar. But have her checked by the vet also, just incase were wrong. But that is my guess.
