Hello,

I have been so worried about parvo and I have asked numerous questions. I lost one rottweiler mix puppy last Aug. and got another puppy in Sept but the first puppy was miss diagnosed he did have parvo but before they thought a really bad case of worms but before I could get him back in the hospital he died.since I was TOLD it wasnt parvo I got another dog the next month about a week later he started vomitting badly and layed around and didnt eat so I took him he had parvo a very strong reading that was positive. He was kept in there for 5 days he got better and did recover but I did get rid of him a few weeks later. Now its almost February I have a 12 week rottweiler and I know that rottys get parvo easily I've talked over and over to my vets is it ok to have her outside shes current on her vaccines shes had 3 so far 1 shot every 3 weeks the vets say its ok to let her out. I did clean everything from the last puppies and did my yard best I could. I would like to hear some opinions about this.

Hi

I have always thought that you couldnt have another dog around the house or surrounding area if a previous dog had Parvo.

Maybe Im wrong but I have always thought this.

YES,you can have another dog but you have to clean everything that the infected dog used or was exposed to including the yard with bleach. Everyone told different time periods to wait to get a puppy I waited 6 months I THINK it will be OK. You should read about parvo on the net pretty informative.

I myslef would wait until it had its full series of shots. It will have some protection but not all of what it needs. We have made this mistake and lost puppies because of it. Good luck to you and your new puppy.

Parvo - my Whole family has had dogs with Parvo and we give them lots of fresh Garlic and it cures up the parvo if cought early on
also we always give them powder garlic on there food and for some reason unknown to me it kills the Parvo My dad was a breeder and it was passed down to him by my grandmother when one of his litters got sick with parvo and all the pups made it
and My dalmation had parvo and vet wanted to put it down but I broght it to my dad gave it fresh garlic for a few weeks dog was all better so if you have dog with parvo freash garlic dont give up hope k
