My puppy is 12-13 weeks old part hound, He just does not like his leash, He will follow you were ever you go without the leash. My question is how do you go about training him to walk with his leash.

Your pup is still very young so be patient. Has he learnt to Sit and Stay yet? Anyway, when you go to put the leash on him tell him he's a good boy, and as soon as it's on give him a little treat. Then if he starts to object tell him No firmly, and slowly start to lead him. When he goes a few steps praise him enthusiastically and give him another treat. Keep leading him with the treats held in your other hand in front of his nose. Suggest you do this when he's hungry. Lots of praise for every move forward, and firm No's when he objects. Good luck.

HI there,

well a little tip from a puppy trainer. Let him walk around the house with the leash on (if it is a regular leash not a flexi) And make sure you watch him so he doesn't chew on it. Let him get a feel for it on his own. Then pick the leash up with alot of slack walk to the kitchen and call his name and if he follows give him a good snack with praise. Use treats for your hound they can tend to be a tiny bit bull headed..haha hope this helps
