I have a gorgeous Cavlier KingCharles spaniel - 6 years old - who suffers from what is termed here in Australia as 'summer itch'. Scratch, scratch all the time. He got a shot of cortisone from the vet which worked for about a week, and the vet won't give him anymore for the moment ( which is fine). I bathe him in a good anti-itch shampoo and brush him regularly, and use a herbal ointment if the skin breaks, but still he scratches all the time. Would welcome any suggestions (his hair's not long, I get him trimmed regularly). Anyway any advice would be much appreciated. PS He hasn't got fleas.
