I have a 2 year old beautiful Basset Hound. She stays in the house with us and is treated like a baby by the entire family. Our only complaint is the terrible smell of her nose!! Yep, her nose, not her breath; the tip of her nose smells so bad!!! I wash her face and 5 minutes later the stink is back. Does anyone have any ideas what I can do? She is such a loving dog and doesn't smell bad anywhere else except the nose. I do love kisses from her. Can anyone out there please help us!!?? IP: Logged |

Hey, A stinky nose? I've never heard of that before. Maybe she rubbed it into something and, you know the texture of a dog's nose is kinda rough and perhaps the way it's getting washed is not sufficient. In time whatever is on it might wear off. Also maybe it's a physical thing a vet needs to see. I find when it sounds strange, and there's no immediate solutions, a trip to the vet usually solves the puzzle... Good luck, IP: Logged |

I agree with Cindy but my first thought is that maybe something is stuck in there and has gotten infected..it could be so small that only a vet would be able to tell..but when there is a smell usually what follows or tails it is a culprit..heck it could be a tiny piece of rug fiber that is in there infected...please let me know..
