I just chose a 4 week old cream colored Shih poo puppy to join our family. She will be coming home in a few weeks and we are very excited. Her nose still has quite a bit of pink in it. Do you think it will turn brown or is that how it will stay.

While it is uncertain whether or not the nose color would stay, I would think it might stay. I have had many dogs, especially of mixed breed (and that's no put down, they are the best) and surprisingly most retained their puppy characteristics. By that I mean noses, eyes color, and sometimes coat markings. It might darken a little, or speckle, but you'll probably have some pink. Good luck to ya!

This one is relatively easy IF there is at least SOME black pigmentation on it! Yours has probably already blackened but I know for a fact that puppies that are exposed to sunlight helps the pigmentation to darken much sooner. Take that pup out for a "tan"!!!! Another trick! If you have a dog that is supposed to have erect ears or one that is supposed to have a tail that goes over its back but they droop down instead: If the animal is still young you can make a "splint" out of masking tape to train it in the right direction!!! Keep it on as long as it takes but make sure that there is no irritation. A breeder friend of mine taught me these tricks. Michael in Texas

Elayne I have a Harliquin Dane,, she was born with a pink nose with very little black. But the time she was 1 years old her nose was almost completly black.
I don't agree with letting her nose tan or burn,,I use a baby sunscreen on my dog.

I have just purchased an 8 week old white miniature bull terrier. He is 6 weeks old now and still has a pink nose. I have looked at other pics of puppies and by 4-5 weeks they have a black nose. Does anyone know if there noses can go black at a later date.
Any help would be great.

Right, about not sunning a dog, keep it at a minimum. They too can get skin cancer. White or light dogs are more prone to it.
