Our six month old lab has done this twice now in the last few weeks. He seems to be wetting in his sleep. I was awake last night when he did it. He is not getting up to do it, he seems to be doing it in his sleep. The time before it was a big area, but this time it was a small area. There is no smell of urine, I really wasn't sure it was urine? Any ideas? p.s. he is house broken. IP: Logged |

now i'm no expert but have you considered epilepsy? My dog has had seziures in the past (but is now on medication primidone and hasn't had one in years!)and he would lose control of bowls during them. maybe your puppy is having seizures during the night and losing control. of course, my dog was 14 years old when he had his, (now almost 17). but if its epilepsy, it can occur in younger dogs. just a suggestion! =) IP: Logged |

Certain breeds are VERY prone to kidney disease! You need to get such a dog to the vet immediately!! IP: Logged |

Could be a bladder infection or UTI... or maybe he's just licking himself while laying there? I had thought my dog had some "leakage", but one day I walked in my room to find her licking, and when I checked, there was a rather large puddle under where she was licking (her foot that time, but sometimes it really looks like she pee'd). If it's not that, then you should take him to the vet. It could be anything from a simple infection that will be cleared up by a round of antibiotics, to a serious problem or dysfunction of one of his organs. IP: Logged |

Hi there, I recently rescued a 6 month old lab and she too has started wetting the bed while sleeping. She has done this twice in the last three weeks. I had her checked for a UTI and for a Kidney infection and she was clean in both cases. Did you find out what the problem was with your dog? IP: Logged |

I would rule out an infection, I have had this problem with my dog, it happens when she plays too much, gets extremely tired and forgets to go to the bathroom before she goes to bed. It has always been. Also is he going to the bathroom just before bedtime to empty the bladder? Honeybear IP: Logged |
