I have two dogs and one (or possibly both) have starting having accidents in the house. I am pretty sure that it is my fixed male Bishon Frise who is 3 yrs old as I caught him one night, in front of the doggy door no less. I am at my wits end as my carpets are going to get ruined. I have been trying to take them out regularly and making a big deal when they go potty outside, but it seems when we leave and come back someone has had an accident. I have put them in crates while we left at different times but when we are at work all day I can't leave them in there. Also, I can't leave them in the backyard as the Bishon does not like being left out and barks until the neighbors want to wring his little neck. If anyone has any ideas, please help.
Thanks

I have a two year old Staffordshire Bull Terrier & over the last 2 months he has been unrinating in my house. He seems to be unrinating in just one area of the house & my carpet is getting ruined. We had him Castrated about 5 weeks ago & he is still doing it. Please help!!

This is my first time on this webpage, so I'm not familar with the system. BUT, I have a Bishon with the exact same problem! He's 2 years old and has already ruined my carpets. Tonight he jumped up on the sofa a peed on the seat - I mean really let loose! Did you receive any responses that were helpful? If so, could you pass the info on to me? My dog gets closer and closer to needing a new home! Thanks!

The dog must be caught at the time of doing it and you must let him
know that it is really wrong. Show that you are really upset by giving
a firm deep “NO” while looking into his eyes.

It may take a while but eventually he’ll understand that what he’s doing
is wrong and will stop.

I am having the same problem with my 2 year old malshese. My vet says to only discipline him when I catch him in the act but the problem is he never does it when I am near him. Most of the time it's small urine spots so he's marking his territory. This weekend I found 3 spots on our brand new recliner. I am at my wits end is there ANY help???

Hi, I am definitely no expert on dogs but from what I've read I'd say that a dog at say 2 or 3 years that has been housetrained and suddenly starts peeing in the house may have a physical problem that a vet needs to diagnose.
As for the dogs that are left home all day everyday, may have some behavioural problems stemming just from that. It really isn't fair. They just might be frustrated. And right, leaving them in a crate all day isn't the answer either. While you're at work you could also leave them paper in a designated area. And start from square one catching them in the act and teaching them all over again, maybe? Best of luck to you guys.

Wow - My five year old fixed male bichon started hiking his leg and peeing on vertical objects recently.

We got him a companion male bichon 2 years ago. All was going well until the last few months.

The carpeting was removed today and it was disgusting. The plywood subflooring showed the evidence.

Crates not going to work for me. Maybe the laundry room, but I need HELP here. Any ideas?

Thanks
