Hi - I have a wonderful 3 year old female chocolate lab who is calm and very well-behaved - except the fact that she sleeps on my bed. I know its my fault, as I've allowed her on the bed since she was a puppy. Now I want her to sleep on her own bed (which is right next to mine), but she waits until I am asleep and joins me! She has a large orthopedic bed that is ideal for her, but just won't stay on it. I know its my fault for giving her free access all this time, but is it too late to change this behavior? How can I do it without causing her too much stress? I look forward to your advice! IP: Logged |

I had the same problem with my Chessy! So this may work for you as long as your Lab doesnt chew on things. I put one of my shirts that has my scent on in his bed at night instead of the hamper and he has been content to sleep in his bed with my shirt. Maybe your dog just wants to be close to you.
