This morning i heard him coughing in his crate so i picked him up and took him to his potty pad and he threw up! It was little drops of yellow, but i feel so awful for him! He's not eating, he's had diahhrea, (which we got medicine for at the vet) and now he's vomiting!

We are so worried about him and though he's only been here almost 3 days, and we were contributing the sickness to new surroundings, now i'm not too sure.

Does anyone know if this vomit/diahhrea is normal?? He doesnt want to eat and he's on medication, so i'm worried sick.

Also, he threw up a little in his crate. Does this mean the whole "regression" of the crate? I read that if a puppy poos/pees in the crate, it takes months to reverse that. Is it the same for vomit??

I don't know anything about the crate issue (I never crated), but if he's now on his third day -- CALL THE VET right away! I'm not saying it's anything serious, so don't panic..... but better safe than sorry! Especially if he's on medication, he's now not getting that either (since hes' throwing up)

The yellow in his throw up is bile ... obviously, since he doesn't have any food in his wittle belly! Bless his heart.

I think with vomiting a dog has no choice in the matter. When you have to vomit you have to. Some dogs need to have a little something in their stomaches more often than others. Helps over active stomaches to give a little treat inbetween meals. Also sometimes eating grass will induce vomiting. Watch what your dog does while outside. Change of food can be the issue or just plain out nerves being your pup is in a whole new envirement without it siblings and mom. Bring to the vet if he's not eating or drinking. Have neutical(sp) on hand too.

Parvo. Get to vet immediately and have a parvo test. Pronto. If there is blood in the stool at all its definately parvo.

Ok so there are more than one disease with the symptoms mentioned but chances are its parvo. Puppy + vomit + diarrhea = you're looking at at least 300 bucks a week for treatment + you may not get a new puppy for a long long time + high risk of mortality especially because you let it go on for 3 days. Never let it go on for three days.

If he were eating fine I would say not to panic. Since he isnt...RUN to the vet. Now.

MISTRESS,

It wasn't parvo and thank you for your "wisdom" and "optimism." As for the puppy, he's fine. I think you should really be careful in what you say to people and unless you really know what you're talking about...don't. I've read what you wrote previously to others, and I must say, words shouldn't be used as a weapon.

MonsterBailey,

Thank you and he was told to be a little anemic. Also, because he is so little, when he got an infection, his tiny body didnt fight it off well.

I read your reponse to MyBabyShihPoo leaving. =( I dont want her to leave either. She's so awesome!

I'm assuming that Bailey is your dog, no?? =) What is Bailey?? Can you post his picture?? Not sure if you have done this already, but since I'm new to this, I'd love to see his picture to better acquaint myself! =)

****Present and Future viewers - Please note: if a dog has a concerning problem/ailment seek the advice of a qualified vet FIRST or you may be putting your dogs life at risk with improper treatment. Members here are *NOT* qualified to accurately diagnose a problem because many sicknesses can show similar symptoms. As in this case a member's diagnosis was wrong.

Thank you for the update Sillysillypuppy so glad your puppy is doing better!!

Everyone out to get me today? Of COURSE im not a vet. Persistant vomiting and runny stool is a problem that can very easily be deadly. If anything a negative post could get the worry mode going strong enough to get her to a vet. A problem like that needs to be dealt with IMMEDIATELY. Never hesitate to take your dog to the vet. NEVER. Risking your dogs health for a 40 dollar vet visit fee is just out of line. Either that was the case or the symptoms weren't as serious as your post came off.

Like I said, if there is blood in the stool with those symptoms...the liklihood of it being parvo is very high in puppies. She didnt say if there was or not. People need to slow down and read what I'm saying.

As far as your words not being read carefully, you're wrong.

First off, you said that my puppy might be in high danger because I allowed it to go on for 3 days. NOT TRUE. I said that he's been with me for 3 days. Read more carefully. The symtom started in the morning as I mentioned in my post. He also HAD diahhrea previously, and got medication for that as I mentioned on my post.

Second, your first reply stated, 'Parvo. Definately parvo'...went on to say that if there was blood in the stool, it is surely to be parvo. Once again, that was never said. Symtoms shouldnt be "created" from your imagination in order to fulfill your idea of what is wrong. Don't assume. We all know what that makes people.

You have to learn how to "take it" if you choose to "dish it."
