Is it ok to give my 10 week old shih tzu puppy chew bones like rawhide or pressed rawhide. She wants to chew constantly and gets bored with her toys. I'm concerned about her cracking her baby teeth on rawhide.

Hi, I dont see why you cant give her rawhide my puppies eat it after they have stole it from my other dogs heheheh as this goes soft when chewed on.
giving her a variety of toys and chews will help with her bordem.

Aslong as the chews are not solid then they should be fine keeping a regular check on her teeth will alert you to any teething problems.

At 10weeks old teething problems occur just like in children the gums become soft and tender and this is when they take to chewing different things.

You shouldnt be worried about her teeth as much as you should be worrried about her gut.
Raw hide, pressed rawhide pigs ears etc....
if your pup is really in to chewing then they will get very excited and not really care how fast it goes down the hatch.
the problem with raw hide is that if they chew off a big enough piece they WILL swollow it, once its in the stomach it "swells" to a much bigger piece (ever notice how when a rrawhide is chewed, wheres its wet is 'swollen'? thats what it does in the stomach) this makes it 98% impossible to bass and can lead to bloat. (twist of the stomach and intestines)
a alternitve to feeding rawhide would be raw beef soup bones, with the marrow, these can be substituted for a meal. start your pup on one mabye 3 times a week for 10-20 minutes a day. then progress from there. Only give it to her 2 times a week.
also there a ton of really strong toys with squeakies in them. These toys are designed for TERRIERS and are particaly indestructable
The series is called " Egg Babies" there anphibious creature ie) dinosaur, fish, turtle... they all have 3 'eggs' in them, the eggs have squeakies in them. they are practicaly indestructable, look for them at a petstore near you.
