I don't recall if we've had this discussion yet..... but..... for those of you Shihpoo owners: how much does your ShihPoo dog(s) weigh? and how old are they?

At Bailey's vet visit this week he weighed 13.2 lbs! (THE OINKER! hehe). He'll be 10 months old next week. He's definitely not overweight. I even asked the vet and she said he was perfect and lean. The thing is when we got him they said he'd be 8-12 lbs. (then again, you never really know do ya?)

Also: I'm just curious when do dogs usually reach their adult/"plateau" weight.... I'd assume it would be right around one year of age.

Mickey & Tigger weigh 9 and 9.5 lbs. respectively. When they went to the vet, which was approx. a month ago, she mentioned that they would not gain much more weight. Maybe a lb. or two, if any at all. She thought they both would probably stay at their current weight or maybe get up to a whopping (hehe ) 10-11 lbs.

About the adult weight, my vet also mentioned that Mickey & Tigger are pretty much done growing/full grown (hence her mentioning that they would only gain a lb. or two if any at all).

Their full grown weight really wasn’t a concern of mine, I just wanted a smaller dog. No matter what, they are still my babies and I love them to death!!!

Great topic! Of course, I don't have my shih-poos yet, but I love hearing about everyone's babies!

bella is just under 12 lbs.

when we went at 7 months of age for her spaying she was 7 lbs. and everyone at the vets office agreed she was done and would stay 7 lbs.
four pounds and some ounces later she was done. she'll be 2 years on wednesday

BellaMommy! Long time no read! I was curious about your response! thanks!

Looks like (if Bailey is typical) he'll probably stay around this weight, or maybe hit the 14 lb mark, which is still just fine. (Not that it would make a difference anyways! LOL)...

See what you have to look forward to PooGirl!?
