Just curious..

I have a few names in mind, but I'm wondering what made you pick the name you did for your puppy?

Did you search the internet? Wait till you got your puppy to see if anything jumped out at you? Anything else?

we picked Jenny because when our youngest daughter was 2 she thought her older sister's "real name" was Jennifer (it was Kathlyn) it became a joke in our family, and 5 years later we still think of that and laugh. We thought Jenny was appropriate.

My daughter loves the disney princess, we had a jasmine so the second dog became belle going along with that theme. Our third dog however was named before we got her. FiFi, I am not too fond of her name but dont want to confuse her by changing it.

I did'nt really pick either of my dog's names. Natalie was named after Natalie Maines of the Dixie Chicks....a friend of mine picked it and I ended up sticking with it because I thought it was a cute name for her. Sebastian came with his name but was named by his previous owners after Sebastian (the large flying dog)from the movie "The Never Ending Story".

I just always wanted a golden retriever and name him Bailey. I thought it was cute (and a little different at the time) and it was a two-syllable name, which they say is the easiest for a dog. (Like how would THEY KNOW? LOL). Well after finding out i was HIGHLY allergic to golden retrievers (and ll FUR-dogs) we got Bailey. The first day when we brought him home I started second guessing the name and thought of the name "Baxter" instead... and so we were laying on the grass and I just asked him (the dog) "Do you want to be Bailey or do you want to be Baxter?" ... got no results... so I asked again and he pounced on my face and started licking me when I said BAILEY....enuff said. Now he totally looks like a Bailey to me! LOL (how is that for brainwashing?) hehe

so what names are you thinking about? and I don't recall, are you getting a boy or a girl?

Thanks everyone!

We've decided on 2 females. The name Dory is in the back of my mind.. yes, I loved Ellen Degenerus's character in "Finding Nemo".. just cracked me up! It's become a joke between hubby and I because I can forget things.

I also like Jasmine, but a friend of ours has a cat named Jasmine so I'm trying to think of another one.

My mother named my dog--I called her and told her that I found the most adorable puppy and that I put money down for her. She said "well, what are you going to name her?" i didnt have a name and she said "how about Winnie??" and we both said "HOW CUTE!!! WINNIE!!!!" She looks like a winnie!!! I love her!

Poogirl..... Dory is a darling name! (and (((gasp))) TWO syllables! hehe) Just don't forget where you put her at night ha ha ha!

Do you have the two girl puppies already picked out? obviously their disposition and coloring may contribute to the 'name game'

Hey MonsterBailey

You are too funny! Yeah, I can really relate to Dory sometimes! hehe

Hmm.. I think I read in my Puppies for Dummies book that names should be 2 syllables b/c they retain it better?

No, I don't have my pups picked out yet I'm actually playing the email tag game and can't seem to get a hold of EITHER breeder I am looking at! This week, I will track them down though!
