Just a couple of general questions about pom-a-poos.

Maggie went to the vet last week. She is 3 months old and weighs 5.6 pounds. Any guesses on how big she will be? Or what the average size is for a pom-a-poo is? (mom is a pom, dad is a toy poodle)

The vet tested her stool sample and she has roundworms. They gave me something to give her to help her to get rid of them. How big a deal is her having worms? Is it something every puppy has?

Also if anyone owns a pom-a-poo, I would love to see a picture of your baby. I will post a picture of Maggie as soon as I can.

Thanks for all your help!!

The rule of thumb is that pups tend to triple their weight from when they are about that age. This is in NO way 100% accurate but my guess is that you're looking at about 15 pounds full grown. (Maybe it really was a mini poodle she got crossed with!) Poms are 3 to 7 pounds and toy poodles I think are like 4 to 8. Mini poodles tend to be 15ish to 25ish so my guess is that either the parents were very large..or the poodle was actually a mini. Many of the poo mixes are actually bred with mini poodles.

Worms are very common and are no big deal as long as they are already being treated. They give the pup diarrhea which will dehydrate the pup and they take some of the nutrients away frmo what the dog is eating but is no big deal at all since its already being treated. Should go away right away and her stool will firm up I bet.

Thanks for your reponse. I couldn't see the link though.

(The woman I bought Maggie from said that both her parents were about 10 lbs.)
