Well, MonsterBailey was holding me hostage until I made my dogster page, so I FINALLY gave into her demands and made it! LOL

Anyhow, here it is: http://www.dogster.com/dog_page.php?i=6358&j=t

Enjoy everyone (ESPECIALLY you MonsterBailey)!

Making the page was SOOO much fun! I've been recommending that page to friends and family and they are lovin' it!
Thank you for the kind compliments! I think they are pretty darn cute myself...although, I am probably just a *bit* biased! LOL

I agree, it is quite strange how they differ in color so much. (Your joke about it, by the way, had me laughing over here...I can always depend on you for a few good laughs! ) Tigger actually had a lot more coloring in his coat, but when he got his new haircut, all the color was cut out due to the fact that all the coloring was toward the tips/ends of his coat. Oh well, he is still as cute as could be despite loosing practically all his coloring.

By the way, you had previously (in a separate post)asked about Mickey & Tigger's new haircut...the pictures posted on dogster are all of Mickey & Tigger with their new "do".

(I'll be posting a couple more pics on their page at dogster as soon as I get them out.)

I too am addicted to the site! (I am holding you responsible for that addiction! hehe ) The way they have the site setup makes it one of a kind!

I have a few questions for you though:
~What is the "corralling" thing about?
and
~What is the "pup pals" about?

Glad you enjoyed it,
Kristi

Deb2950~

The whole corralling thing is beyond me. Maybe our "dogster expert" MonsterBailey can help us out on that one!

Milo~

I completely forgot that you had created a page at dogster...I am so glad you e-mailed me about the pup pals! I think our pups are going to be the best of pals! It's GREAT that our pups are now pup pals...the more the merrier!!!

hehe... you're so funny MyBabyShih! hehe...
As far as the "Corral" thing... the way I look at it is a way to "bookmark" other dogs on the site, if you want to go back and see them and stuff. And they just added a feature now (i think the site is REALLY NEW) that allows you to see who corraled you. It's kind of fun, just to see who is interested in your doggie or not. According to the "rules" (and I use that loosely) the "pup pal" feature is to be used if you are "really friends" with the other dogs.... but, of course, I don't think everyone uses it that way. I liked that feature cuz you can show everyone all your friends....

I wished they'd have a way to 'chat' with the other people on the site (like a chat or message board like this). There has been some pictures or pages that have just tickled me pink and I wanted to just send the owners a "hello, you're dog is too cute" type of message... anyhow, perhaps that's on it's way some day!

And I'm pleased to hear that I'm the reason for your addiction! LOL..... there are worse things in life, eh?
by the way...... I don't know if you've ever mentioned... where are you at? in the states?

and by the way..... I just realized that Bailey gets the same "puppy" cut as your babies!! hehe.... and ummmm...... which one is Tigger? I'm thinking the white one, right? Cuz of what you said about him losing some of his coloring after getting the hair cut.

Gosh, their little faces look so much alike! It's amazing how much these shihpoo's resemble each other!

And I have to ask.... how do you keep the light one (Tigger?)'s face white and not stained? Bailey's white beard is getting stained from his food and chewtoys.... I saw some "Stay white" (or show white??) stuff in a catalog that I was thinking of looking into, but didn't know much about it.

Hi MonsterBailey~

Thanks for clearing up the corralling thing. I was tempted, before you explained it, to give it a whirl and just click it on your page and see what would happen. But, unsure as to what might happen, I decided to play it safe! But, now that I know what it is, I'm gonna' press it without fear! LOL

I am totally with you about the message board/chat forum idea...that is such a great idea!!! I too have wanted to just drop a "hello, your page (and dog) is too cute" kind of note to some of those people there. If the site is indeed new, I wouldn't be surprised if they do add that feature...we'll see!

Where I am from...I'm from Illinois, although, wishing that I was where you are from!!! hehe The weather is infinitely better out there...California dreaming!

You mentioned the puppy cut, I am really happy with Mickey & Tiggers'! I thought Bailey's coat looked a little shorter, like a puppy cut...it is too cute!!! I just love it how they cock their head to the side. Mickey & Tigger do that a lot when I talk to them...too preciuos!

Yep, you we're right, Tigger is the white one. I have never had problems with staining around his mouth, but I have with the tearing around his eyes. I bring Mickey & Tigger to their groomer about every 6-8 wks. and she always cuts it all out, and cleans it up well. I've heard of some products, such as the one you mentioned, that are supposed to help to get rid, or clear up some of the staining. I have never tried any of them myself, but it might be worth a try. A magazine/catalog I get, Fosters & Smith (I think that is the name of it), advertises a few of those stain removing products. I'll be seeing my groomer (well, technically, Mickey & Tigger's groomer) in a couple of weeks, and I'll try to remember to ask her about it.

I too was quite surprised to see how similar shih-poos look! I figured since some shih-poos have more of a poodle look, and others have more of a shih-tzu look that you wouldn't find many that look alike...boy was I wrong (although, that's not a first hehe).

Anyhow, off to attend to the two little beasts,
Kristi

oh, i have a very good friend who lives in Chicago! and ya, we never mention the "temperature" when we talk... LOL

Yes, it was in the Dr's Fosters&Smith catalog that I saw the "show white" stuff, so that's why I was curious. I buy from them allllll the time!! In fact, just got a package a few days ago. I love them! I think I might try that stuff... i was just curious about it, cuz it seems tho it might be some sort of "bleach" if it whitens, ya know? and well, THAT doesn't sound good. Hmmm... I'll have to look into it. Bailey gets the same "streaks/stains" around his eyes also. (in fact, that's really where it's the worst). Let me know what your groomer says, cuz I don't think mine uses any sort of product, she just shaves the eye area and sort of cuts it all out. (ewww).

Speaking of groomers, so does your groomer use scissors or shaver/clippers to do their hair cuts? Bailey has to go every four weeks. I'd loooooove to be able to go every 6-8 weeks like you!! Gosh, how do you do that!? If we wait too long, things get messy in the back area......"if ya knowwwwwww what I mean"......lol

A dear aunt of mine lives in Sacramento, and she just LOVES to talk about the weather when theirs is better...isn't that nice of her!

Speaking of that catalog, isn't it great!!! It is hard to resist buying so much stuff in there...too many cool things. I completely understand your worries about the eye cleaning products. I have never tried them because I have always been worried about it possibly getting in their eyes since there has to be some kind of bleaching agent in it. My groomer does the same thing your does, cuts tear stained fur. It looks great when she's done!

I have no clue as to whether my groomer uses a shaver/clippers or scissors. The first time I stayed was during their first grooming appt.. At that time I was only having her do the hygiene grooming (not the puppy cut). For their rear end and belly she used a razor. For the feet, face, and ears she used scissors.

Their last grooming appt. was their first time getting the puppy cut, and I didn't stay for that one so I am unsure as to what she used. But, you now have me wondering, so when I bring Mickey & Tigger to her house for their appt. I will ask about that as well and let you know!

About the 6-8 wks, I thought (before I got Mickey & Tigger) that I would have to bring them in more often like you do with Bailey. Fortunately, 6-8 wks. works quite well. Eight weeks is pushing it though, it is usually more like 6-7 wks. The pictures I posted on dogster were taken approx. 5 wks. after their most recent grooming appt., so as you can see they really don't need any grooming quite yet.

About the rear end thing, I actually don't have a problem with it in between appts.. There have been a couple of occasions where "something" (if you know what I mean) got caught in the fur, which is NOT fun to cut out especially since he usually sits down to get "it" off before I can grab him (talk about EWWWWW)! But that has only happened two or three times, so no big deal.

Mickey & Tigger actually LOOOOVE going to the groomer (besides the car ride part of it), so that is a HUGE bonus for them and me!
