I don't remember the exact time my shih-poos received their rabies vaccine, but I know it had to have been before they were 7 months old (b/c they haven't received any shots since Dec., and in Dec. they were almost 7 months old).

Well, now that I read what I just said above, that probably didn't help you out much; sorry.

It is really according to your vet and state law .My state says 3 months ,so my vet does it then .Some wait until later but if you intend to fly with your pet it has to be done before you can carry on a plane if over 3 months old ,I know if I ship a puppy (which I only do if I have to )and mine are 12 weeks old or older when shipped ,they have to have a rabbies shot before they can get on the plane and health certificate saying they have had it ,so I think it is each state and what each vet does as a routine .

Natalie got her rabies shot when she was 4 months old and then again a year later but that one is good for 3yrs. I suppose it depends on the vet and possibly even the State you live in.

i believe bella was 16 weeks when she got hers.. it was during her last of the initial booster series.. she then gets it yearly, due to florida state law..

I know that in my town the rabies shot is by-law. I had to get Milo's Rabiest shot when he was 16 weeks old. You should check what your city's rules.

Thanks,
Christina
