I just purchased 2 peke a poo dogs yesterday. They are 6 weeks old. I was wondering if is normal for them to eat then sleep for long periods of times. I am new at this mommy thing and I just want to make sure this is normaL

I also want to thank all you guys for caring and loving your animals so much. It was listening to your stories about your poo dogs that made me buy these two lovely dogs. Thanks a lot I really appereciate all your help.

Ps. Does any body have any suggestions for names for the two girls?

Thanks Linda

Linda,
I bet they are adorable! good luck! I couldn't eeeeeven imagine having two puppies in the house at the same time... yipes. hehe.... Do you mind if I ask why you have them so early? (usually it's 8 weeks)

As far as names, gosh... that would depend on a number of things, but I always thought names that match/coincide is always cute --- like Sugar and Spice, Beauty and Beast (if one is good and one is bad) and if they're both bad little girls you can always name them Thelma and Louise! heehee.... I found a cute site that has pair name suggestions that you might want to take a look at:

Keep us posted!

Hi monsterbailey,

My intentions were only to purchase one dog but when I saw the both of them and the living condition that they were in, I couldn't leave the other one there. The owner thinks that they are six weeks old but she is not certain. I am taking them to the vet on tuesday, and I am hoping they will know. I will take a look at the site you provided and keep you posted on the girls name. Thanks a bunch Linda

I don't blame you... I probably would have taken another also if the conditions were as bad as I'm assuming. Yipes.....good for you for doing what you could! I hope you didn't take offense to me asking that (some people can get perty condescending on these things, as i've noticed) so I wasn't making judgment on you - just curious as to why so early.

As far as names, I can't wait to hear what you decided on. What color are they anyways?

Hey MonsterBailey,

Oh heaven sakes I would never take offense to your question. My parents asked me the same thing. I think they think I have lost my mind but anyway. The girls are solid black with a little white on their stomachs. They weigh about 2 pounds and will only be about 10 to 15 pounds. They are so such sweet girls. My friend thinks that I should name them Venus and Aphrodite, after the goddess's of love but I am not sure if I like those names. I am still name hunting and the site you provided has given me a lot of possiblities. Thanks Linda

i don't have any name suggestions but i've read that it is easier for them to learn their name if it is two syllables..
no names come to mind when you look at them? i got bellas's name because from the moment i first looked at her i said she was bella (beautiful in italian).. needless to say it stuck and she seems to love her name and the attention she gets from having it

Thelma and Louise! That would be cute. And with two of them running around I imagine they will live up to their names!

Hey guys, I think we have decided to call the girls Athena and Venus. I liked Thelma and Louise but my boyfriend did not like that cute name. They have gotten so big in the last couple of weeks I will be loading a pics of them real soon. Thanks Linda and the babies
