Hi Dog Lovers,

I got a new 7 week old Pom for Christmas and my wonderful 5 year old Papillon named Ziggy is having a hard time adjusting. I am giving Ziggy lots of love and he just doesn't understand our new addition to the family. Does anyone have any advise for helping older dogs adjust to new pups. My pap is very mellow and just trys to hide from our new pom named Angel. By the way she only lives up to her name when she sleeps and she is a little spit-fire when she is awake. She loves to try to play with Ziggy but he doesn't understand and doesn't like her sharp teeth. Thanks for listening!

Just make sure you are there while they are together. Let the new pup just play in segments of time. So's not to overwhelm Ziggy. Make sure you give equal attention. It is still all new to ziggy. I think in about one month they may be good buddies or at least tolerating each other. It takes time.
