After a long break for Thanksgiving at my parents house, I decided that Winnie should sleep in her own bed...She is in her crate all through the night when we are there. I didnt want to crate her during the night and then during the day when I am at work...SO now that we are back to our house, I tried it last night. She slept in her "night-night bed" ALL NIGHT!!!! I was so proud of her. Keep your fingers crossed for tonight!!!

If thats where you really want her to be then don't let her sleep on your bed at all. She will change her mind quick if you start up again. I changed my terriers sleeping area from my bed to his own. Within two nights he knew his bed was the place to go. He just sheds alot and I was tired of having it on the bed. His bed is next to our bed in the corner. I think he loves it now, because he doesn't get pushed around by our feet.

Gald to hear its working.

Ive actually JUST found out (THE HARD WAY) that sleeping on the bed as a pup is a complete dominace issue. After letting my pup Pete whose 8 months old sleep on my bed he started breaking his house trainning and peeing WHEREVER he wanted and he got really destructive. Which is not in his nature.
his crate keeps him safe and cozy and well as helps to keep him in his place.
