![]() ![]() ![]() I have a 3yr old peekapoo. His name is Solomon. I have witnessed him have 2 seizures in the last 6mos. The vet says these little ones are prone to these attacks , but I would like more information concerning this condition. Can anyone point me to a website that will help to get guidance. IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() My toy poodle also has seizures. He is 7yrs old and has only lived with me for a year. In his previous home he had seizures quite frequently but has only had 2 living with me in the past year. I was discussing this with my vet today and she said that they usually progress as the dog ages and that my dog is okay for now but if he has 4 or more per year she would recommend putting him on Phenobarb (sp?). Here are some links for you: http://www.canine-epilepsy.com/Why.html http://www.healthypet.com/FAQ/general-20.html IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() P.S. In my situation, stress seems to bring on the seizures. His previous enviroment was very stressful compared to his current one which is why I think he is not seizing as much. My vet gave me a wonderful explanation on seizures today...I don't think I could explain it as well as she did but maybe your vet can give your more info. as well. Good luck. IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() I have seen my poodle have a couple in the past. THe last one was brought on by her being so stressed out from a bout with kennel cough. This was just one night of constant hacking and ended in seizure. I zipped her to the vet asap. I have and I am not sure why, but cat food is supposed to be kept away from dogs that have seizures. I mean all dogs really but it does somethign to them. IP: Logged |
