I can't say the thought has not crossed my mind. I have showed my dog (it) and expressed my extreme dissapointment. He only had about 4 or 5 accidents poop wise. Most in the bathroom right in front of the toilet. But I think that could be borderline abuse.

You should NEVER rub your dogs nose in there waste!! That is just cruel. How would you like it if someone rubbed your nose in it? I dont think that would be nice. You can give off a bad vibe to the dog. He make think its bad to go when your around and still go in the house but in a small confined space. What you need to do is pick him up and his poo and take him outside. Put it on the ground and tell him "good boy" or "good girl". My toy poodle started going in the house after she was already potty trained, and I did the same thing with her and she is back to going outside.

Agreed, they won't understand what you are doing anyway. Not a good training method.

I agree with the others...rubbing a dogs nose in it is not the best training method. Your more likely to confuse the dog and make it afraid of you...the dog will still releive itself inside but just not when your around. Its easier to train a dog to do what you want it to rather than punish it for behavior you do not want. A dog should never be punished/corrected unless caught in the act and even still rubbing its face in it would not be the best correction.

I said the thought ran across my mind because when I was younger this is something my parents would have done. But I won't do it. I know its useless and only makes the dog take ten steps backwards rather than learning something good. I would say to pick up that poop and let it sit in an area that you want your dog to go. Not to leave it there forever, but just so he will maybe smell it and feel its ok.
