What is the right age to get a Maltese puppy fixed? I wan't him to be fixed before he starts marking things. But his "privates" haven't dropped down yet....So any idea around what the age will be?

Thanks so much! =)

I do believe 6 months is the age. You know my terrier I think was neutered at a young age, not sure how old. But the good thing is that the genitles(sp) stay small. My sisters poodle is about 10lbs and rufus is about 24lbs and the poodle is huge down there.LOL
But anyway, the next vet visit you can talk about that with him-her.

Lyndsey - how old is your puppy? Have you asked your vet what age it should be done? My vet will do it no sooner than 4 months of age but I think they have to be dropped first.

Puttin510..LOL! My toy poodle was not fixed until he was 5yrs old (I didnt own him at the time) and he is also huge down there...it appears to be too large for his body. My mothers miniature poodle is 22lbs. and was neutered at 4 months and he is much smaller down there.

My puppy is about 4 1/2 months. I will ask the vet on the next visit! Thanks!
