I know the newness is burning off. For me what is going on is that my poo sasha has been going to the vet to help her joints. It seems that at the young age of six she is developing degenerative arthritis(ok I said a bad word) shoot me. LOL Well after anti-inflamitories, muscle relaxants, human intervention of glucosamine shots and the last one which I believe is a steriod but only mild and twice weekly I have to say she is starting to spark up. The other day, instead of tiptoeing thru the yard she was jamming thru it straight after rufus, she totally wore that boy out. For me it was an amazing and happy thing for me to see her acting like that. I had no idea she could ever run that fast. I am happy, but I don't like her on these meds. We are having her blood drawn to make sure her system is handling them and she is doing fine. Whats up with y'alls doggies?

well, I guess my sugestion would be that after every meal or so you should clean his whole face with a washcloth or bay wipes. I know yours is a malt mine is a poo, but with every meal I make Sasha wear a scarf to keep her ear hair out of her mouth, then after she eats I take that off and clean her mouth and her eyes, so there is no eye gunk buid up. I also give her eye teeth acleaning. Remember small dogs tend to loose front teeth with in a couple of years of life so if you can help him keep them then try. I know of a gal on another forum with two beautiful malts and she bathes weekly with pantene and they always look great. For sweet smelling shampoos, I had a jasmine smelling shampoo that smelt sweet but I have been using mane and tail for over a year now. I think its just a matter of cleaning the face of our little buddies a few times a day to amke them smell better. garlic makes my dogs breath smell better.

Thanks luvpets, the and a half does count too. My youngest sone turns 14 in 9 days. He still has not told me what he wants. You seem pretty mature for a 13 1/2 year old.

what she meant was that it's a combination between your maturity and that you love animals, and like to help when you can

This is true. There are some days I have to miss and some days that don't go well. Sometimes when there is something up with sasha I am just not ready to bring it up. It takes a bit of time for it to sink in. Oh yeah, I have teenage boys too.
