I think kitty Sage possibly realizes she's a baby. They are going to be such good friends. I can already see it. Yes, 5 weeks is young, usually for tiny dogs its more like 12 weeks that would be ideal. But just make sure she's getting plenty of the right nutrients and all should be well. Take pictures. I think something happened with the mother so that she stopped giving milk and that's why she's with us so early. She's been so funny today! The whole neighborhood had to come out and see her and everyone loved her even though she slept through most of it. We got back inside and she and Sage played (more like she chased Sage until he gave her the stare down which caused her to run into her kennel!). It might be a couple weeks before I can put up pics but I'll work on it. She's a definte must see! IP: Logged |

Crazychick, you must remember that nestle must be kept away from all other dogs until she gets all of her shots. Its ok if she is in your yard, but don't let her roam around anyplace that any other dog has been. Without their shots they can pick up all sorts of illnesses, kennel cough (bortadell) parvo, distemper, lots of ugly things. Your cute little pup can die from these things so make sure she has gotten all of her shots before she is allowed to be around other dogs. It is all for her well bing and to keep her healthy. I am looking forward to seeing her. I already have a visual of her in my head. I think she is my perfect choc. chi put. Lucky you. Take care of her. IP: Logged |

I think she's got a vet appt. the week after next for shots (My mum knows for sure), but I'm wondering about worming since she's so small. Is it still possible or would it make her sick? I'd hate to lose her, too. She's definitely precious! What illnesses would she be able to catch from the cat? There's three dogs on my block that I know of, two dachsies and a golden retriever, and I wouldn't let her near any of them anyway. The dachsies almost ripped my beagle's stomach out in a fight when we had her and the retriever is strange towards people, acts like he wants to attack you and then expects you to pet, so I'm keeping her far away! I can't wait for the vet to see her! He doesn't really like our other animals because the horses are pretty high strung and the cat, well, he's a little psychotic sometimes. She'll be a breeze for him! IP: Logged |

I would keep her held in your arms while walking in any area that any other dog may have even walked thru. The animal does not have to be physically there to casue health problems. A cat of dog can get tapeworm from ingesting a flea. So when the vet says its ok to put on a topical flea product you should do it. My sisters can had a flea or two and ingested one and ended up with tapeworm Yuck. To be safe keep them away. Your cat is fine as long as you know she's had all her medical stuff taken care of.
