I've been thinking about taking my 2-year old kitty for walks as he loves to be outside and I don't want to let him loose as he's an indoor cat. There are a few dogs around where we live so I don't want him on the harness either (I'm probably overprotective). I've seen cat strollers in magazines and was wondering if anyone has used one of these and if so, how did kitty like it? There's one at the following page:

I sometimes take my cats out on a leash/harness...but I find it makes them turn into door dashers. I like to be able to let them go outside, on their leash, to walk around but then I spend the next few days fighting to keep them from dashing outside. So I'm not sure it's worth all that trouble LOL

Hi Dolly. I went to the site you posted. Those are pretty neat. Do you by any chance have a yard or a patio? You may want to instead invest that money into enclosing your yard or patio to make it cat safe. I'm just wondering if taking your kitty in the stroller would stress him out (as he can't run and hide if he happens to get scared). You know your cat's personality, so you are the best judge of what would make him happy. Perhaps he would really enjoy going for a stroll.

hi!!

in fact, i'm thinking about purchasing this thing. i live in downtown san francisco, and i really think this stuff would do wonders for me when i bring my cat a visit to vet (haven't vacinated him for two years n now i'm very nervous about it).

do u guys think this thing would work better than a car trip when i visit a vet?? (i found a vet about 4 blocks away from my place) my cat is very afriad of drive. but again, he would go into panic mode when he's in some unknown environments, like outside, especailly here with all those cars. he would peek out of my place to the hall way n explore a bit (i live in an apartment building), but the moment he hears someone opening the door or the elevator moves, he dashes back to home. so what do u think?

Chessmind, yes we do have a big backyard, about 100' deep x 60' wide. We were thinking of building some sort of enclosure but my only concern about that is fleas and ticks. Is there a safe way that I can keep them off him? I'm somewhat familiar with Advantage, but if he goes outside does that mean that my other 2 cats indoors will have to get treated as well? He's a bit nervous around strangers (we've only had him 4 months) so I'm not sure how he would do in the carriage. If we did get one, we would try him out in the house and the yard first.
