Seems like the best solution would be to save up $200.00 and get the dog neutered. If you are on a really tight budget you might be able to find a low cost clinic that will do it for free.

Oh, that stinks. Maybe its too complicated for them since its really not all that common in dogs.

Is it possible for you to keep them seperated? Maybe put a baby gate up to keep the dog away from the cat? Sorry, I can't think of anything else. Hopefully someone else will have more suggestions for you.

thank u... i cant understand why they wont neuter him... they gave me a hard time when i got my siamese mix simba done there to they said that if i could pay to get the cat then i could afford to get him done at reguklar price which i explained to them many of times that i didnt pay to get him i found him and finally they did it.. they also say the same bout my dog now b/c he is a chihuha (however u spell it) and i didnt pay to get him either...i guess im gonna have to keep asking them about my dog....i really cant understand how ppl can be that way.. ohhh well ill find a way... but any advice on the peeing situation????? ive tried the sprays etc.. it dont seem to work..

Its possible that some people (who don't really need the low cost surgery) try to take advantage of them. Even if this is the case, I don't think it was very nice of them to generalize and assume that anyone with a pure bred animal can afford regular priced surgery. Too bad you don't have other low cost clinics in your area.

For the peeing problem.....I recommend a "belly band". These are bands that go around the waist - made specifically for dogs that lift there legs or "mark" inside the house. You can purchase one or Im sure you could easily make one yourself. If you do an online search using keyword: belly band you should be able to see what they look like. Hope this helps.

Sounds like Taco. He's my motherin laws chiuahua...he does the same thing! The poor cat runs and try's to hide, but the dogs just won't stop! We've found that the best method is to distract him when he does it. Neutering is not an option for her because Taco is already neutered!!!

As for the peeing problem, try and clean up any cat scent you possibly can. If the cat is spraying, theres the problem. Its a dominace thing and they are marking their territories.

wow its actually nice to know that im not the only one w/ a dog that does that... weird!!!lol anyways thanks 4 the info... and as far as the cat no he dont spray and the dog only does it where ever the cat lays.. on the floor, in the bathtub on the table top, bed etc.... we have been putting the dog in a cage at night lately b/c thats when he mainly pees evrywhere and also when the dogs inside during the day the cat stays outside as much as possible at night my babys r not allowed out so they all have to be in.. but keeping him in the cage is only at night not the day unless im not here... i cant keep him locked up 24/7 so im gonna look into that belly band thing....

I don't know anything that would really help you except that some dogs continue the humping thing after neutering. So if $$ is tight it may just be a waste.
