Hi all,
I recently acquired a 5-month old female kitten to keep my very playful 2 y.o. male company (both are fixed). After vet checks and very slow introdutions, they are finally loose together as of yesterday. He seems to want to chase her all the time though and I think he is scaring her as he's 3x her size. He has shown no signs of aggression (hissing, growling, etc) and seems very happy to have a friend and will cry like a baby if I put her in another room. What, if anything, could I do to discourage him from chasing her so much? Or will his interest die down once he is used to having a playmate? Thanks!

Hello and congratulations on your new kitty. The only thing I can think of to help would be to maybe get a cat teaser or a laser pointer and play with your 2year old, get him a little tired and maybe he wont chase your new kitty as much.

Dolly - I think the novelty will wear off, or the new kitty will tell him to 'back off' in her own way..... I am sure they will get along just fine in time to come.
