my name is Hayley, and Im afraid that my best friend is sick. Her name is Ivory, shes a 1 1/2year old siames mix.
Over our time together, i can say Ive been a bit obsessive making sure that she is taken care of and in good health. about a month ago I discovered that she had a monor case of flea's which had in turned gave her worms. due to lack of money I was unable to get her to the vet until 5days ago. within 2 days her fleas were history, i was seeing no worms in her droppings, and the tightness of her stomach had gone away, this was great, she felt and looked normal!!
THE PROBLEM: over the last two days her litter has hardly been used, her appetitte has gone threw the roof and her tummy has become bloated to twice her normal size all around, this could been nothing, but I dont think so...if you've ever heard of this happening to a cat or know of why or how to fix this, PLEASE HELP!
I know I could be over reacting, but shes my best friend, and i love her so much, i just want to make her feel better!

has she done wees normally ? are you saying she is not doing poos much ?
are you feeding her a different food ? too much ? dry ? wet ? raw ?
she could have constipation, esp. if you notice her belly is so big and she is not doing #2's.
how is her attitude ? is she happy ? does she play much ?
does she go outside ? is she desexed ?

A little bit of parafin oil added to the food will help, if she's constipated. Cut back on the dry food and feed a little more 'wet' food.
Also, if you find she has become 'lazy' , lack of excersise can cause constipation also.

first of all I aprechiate your time and help.
she was spade in nov 2003 and is an indoor cat. She seems to be her playfull self. she is doing the #2 she's just not her regular at all, and only small wees.
her food brand hasnt changed, and she gets 2 cans of wet-food a week (treat) as well as 'Tasteations" (mis-spelled) cat treats.no ppl food.
She's a spoiled kitty I only want the best for her.

I dont think its constipation, but then again, if I knew what it was I wouldnt be asking, right?! MY main concern is that my cat looks as though shes gained 9lbs over night, and just as she was starting to look better.
i hope this helps alittle bit and thank you.
