I have a six month old male kitten. He is not yet fixed but he will be. He has diarreah. I thought it was a cold that was going around and then I thought it was because I feed him wet food but I have elimiated those 2 things and he isn't better. He has no other symptoms. He drinks pleanty of water so he isn't dehydrated. I am taking him to the vet tomorrow but I wondered if anyone had any ideas.

he may need to be wormed.
It can take several days for the gut to return to normal after a bout of diarrhoea, I would suggest feeding only cooked chicken (not spiced) and dry food. Encourage to drink plenty of water.
Cut out all LACTOSE based foods like cows milk, cream, yoghurt, etc.
The vet will be able to help you diagnose a cause, and use the best treatment ( which may just be a worming tablet and a diet change).
I find adding a little PROTEXIN POWDER ( a pro-biotic) to the food will help create good gut flora and therefor stop the diarrhoea.

Well, the vet did say he has a parasite. He is on 2 different medications. The vet also said he thought the food I am feeding him is contributing to the loose bowels. I am feeding him Friskies. The vet sold me a bad of Eukanaba Veternarian Diets. I am giving it to him howver I'm not sure this expensive food is a long term option. Has anyone ever been in this situation?

One he gets over the diarrhea, I would try Natural Balance, Authority, Nutro Maxx, or Chicken Soup. They are all between 15-25 dollars for a 20 pound bag and they are very good foods. A 20 pound bag lasts a long time with only one or two cats.
