Our 3 1/2 year old fixed malle cat SEEMS to be angry with us. In the past month, my eldest daughter moved out, taking her 2 year old male cat with her. In that month also, we went away for 3 days, leaving the cat door open and food and water out for our two remaining cats (one a 4 year old female). Now the male seems to have nothing to do with us. He seldom comes around and when we try to pet him, he runs away. Do you think he is upset with us for changing his surroundings?

Hello. Welcome to the site. I'm sorry your kitty is upset. It seems like a lot has happened in the last month that may have upset your cat. For starters if he was close to your eldest daughter and her cat, he may be a bit troubled that they are both gone. Then on top of that you went away for three days. Cats can get so upset when we go away. They may either ignore you when you come back or just give you an attitude. They end up coming around in their own time. Just be patient with your kitty. Give him a lot of love as he is most likely missing your daughter and/or the other cat. He'll be okay. It just takes time.
