I have recently adopted 2 kittens brother and sister, they are 3 months old and they have been so great with there kitty litter box that I never had a problem, until I came home after work, and then last night all of a sudden he started continually peeing on my bed and then went to deposit on my bed, I catch him in the early stages most times and stick him in his kitty litter box but he just goes straight back to my bed and tries again, What has got into him?

Hello. This could be a UTI (urinary tract infection). In which case you will have to take him to the vets and he/she will give you meds for him.

If this is the cause, the reason why your kitty is not going in his litter box is because a UTI is painful and he associates the litter box with pain. In addition he may not be able to control where he goes.

Some other reasons may be behavioral. Meaning he is upset at you for some reason. Also it can be stress related or even a dirty litter box may be the problem. Cats like their litter boxes nice and clean.

A trip to the vet would be best to rule out a UTI. This will not go away on it's own and needs to be treated with meds. Keep us posted.

A Urinary tract infection can be caused from different bacteria. There isn't a vaccination for it. The ph in the urine gets messed up forming hard crystals. The crystals make it painful for the cat to pee. These are usually treated with antibiotics and sometimes a special diet. Some cats are more prone to UTI than others so they have to eat food with a specific ph balance.

Hi Yeah, i wasnt meaning a vaccination for UTI but thanks anyway, its always good to learn more about it. Is UTI mostly the reason why cats/kittens pee on the bed all of a sudden, last night he urinated in bed while i was in it, it was horrible.

There are other reasons, but UTI is one the main ones. Other medical problems can also cause them to pee outside of the box. After medical problems have been ruled out you look for behavior problems. Stress and anger can also cause them to pee outside the box.

I've had them peeo on the bed while I was in it too and it isn't fun. The worst is getting up and having to strip the sheets off and clean the bed in the middle of the night.

Natures Miracle is the best cleaner that I have found.
