Hello. Welcome to the site. Some people here have suggested placing double sided tape on top of the areas in which you don't want your kitty to walk onto. Once they know the tape is there and experience it, they won't want to go there again. At this point you could then remove the tape from the areas, as I'm sure it will be annoying not only to your cat, but to you as well. Let us know how that goes, and also check the site here as others may have good suggestions for you as well.

Thank you very much for your welcome and advice! I am putting tape on the areas that I need to have my cat keep off of right now!
I will write back if it works. Thanks again Chessmind!

I'm going to try this too. My kitten is 5 months old, and is driving me crazy with her worktop adventures!

You're welcome. Just make sure the tape is double sided tape and not just regular one sided tape.

Remember, but BIG pieces of cardboard and cut them to fit the counter, then put the double sided tape on that. The cat will have a hard time getting it off, but it saves your counters, and makes the cat VERY sure that she will not get back up there!

I never thought to try that. My Sam gets up on everything!! He actually doesnt jump onto the kitchen counters...he climgs up the drawers like a ladder. QUITE amusing. Come to think of it he climbs more than he jumps.

Anyway, I'll have to try that as well!
