Hi, I live in a big old house with a 6 month old kitten. My kitten loves to climb and play in the 2 stories area (14' drop) of the home. I have tried saying NO or spraying boundary indoor cat repellent but it does not work. Suggestions on a better product or just get a smaller home?

Hello. Welcome to the site. I honestly would not worry about your cat playing in areas that have 'big drops.' Cats are natural climbers. Not to mention they have great balance and agility. I often see cats that are up on rooftops, high fences and huge walls. Infact they all seem to enjoy being up high.

My kitten is now 9 months old. In one room in our house there is a half wall with a stairwell behind it. The kitten, as well as 4 other cats, have always walked along the halfwall without incident.

Check out these pictures http://hometown.aol.com/wtpooh3171/index.html
you can see in two pictures the kitten is hanging out on the ledge. Like Chessmind said.....I wouldn't worry.

Wtpooh, Thanks for sharing those pics. They are beautiful and seem like they are best pals. What is it with cats and rolled up paper!? Lol.

Right? If I come home one more time to find the paper towels or toilet paper all over the place one more time I just don't know what I'll do! LOL

What IS the attraction?!

That picture with the paper towel roll was when she was only a few months old. Nothing has changed. She still wrestles with them and I find myself cleaning up bitty pieces of paper towel off the carpet daily. Funny how you can buy your cats all the toys in the world but they end up playing in the box that it came in and the wrapping that surrounded it...Gotta love em'!

Wtpooh: Isn't that the truth! Handsome is as happy as can be when I bring him back a simple cardboard box. Not to mention he just loves Christmas time, when I'm wrapping all the presents. He's laying on the tissue paper, attacking ribbons and wrapping paper. It's the funniest thing. We can spend a fortune on their cat toys, but what they love the most is almost free.

Yeah, I wouldn't worry about your cat. My friends rag doll kitten would play on a ledge about 14 feet off the ground, because there was a plant there, an ivy, and she liked to chase the stray strands (what would you call those?). She fell countless times from there to the mantel, to the hearth, to the ground, and, aside from the first time, acted like nothing had happened!
