MY CAT HAS SOMETHING OBVIOUSLY WRONG WITH HIM...TODAY IS CHRISTMAS THOUGH, SO WE ARE KIND OF STUCK!! LAST THURSDAY HE WAS NEUTERED AS WELL AS TREATED FOR AN ABSESS FROM A CAT BITE..RESULTING IN ABOUT A THREE INCH LINE OF STITCHES. THEY ALSO GAVE HIM A RABIES AND A DISTEMPER SHOT...SINCE LAST WEEK, HE IS NOW BEEN THROWING UP FOR A FEW DAYS..WE THOUGHT IT WAS PROBABLY FROM THE WHOLE ORDEAL, BUT NOW WE AREN'T REAL SURE..HE IS EXTREMELY TIRED,DILATED EYES, AND DOESN'T SEEM TO KEEP ANYTHING DOWN. THE STICHES LOOK LINE..NO INFECTION. WE CAN GET HIM TO THE VET TOMMORROW, BUT WAS HOPING SOMEONE WILL BE ON LINE TODAY WITH SOME HINTS TO TRY FOR HIM. WE ORIGINALLY BROUGHT HIM IN BECAUSE HE STARTING TO URINATE EVERYWHERE! WE FIGURED IT WAS BECAUSE HE WASN'T FIXED. HE WAS ON AN ANTIBIOTIC AFTER THE LANCING AND NEUTERING. TODAY, HIS URINE SMELLS HORRIBLE THOUGH..FROM THE LITTER BOX, IT SMELLS THE WHOLE ROOM PLUS SOME LIKE HE JUST SPRAYED, SO MAYBE IT HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH THAT..EXCEPT THAT HE JUST HAD THE ANTIBIOTIC..HELP!!!

Hello. I'm sorry your kitty is not feeling well. For starters try giving him a little bit of water at a time with a water dropper or needless syringe. Cats can get dehydrated very quickly. Also, I realize it is Christmas, however if you call the vets office they will often have the vets emergency number. Call him/her and explain what is happening to your kitty. Bring him to the vets tommorow (unless your vet will see you today) and keep us posted. Also check the site all day today as there are a lot of people with good suggestions, regarding how to take care of your kitty.

hi, the best thing to do until you can get your kitty to a vet is keep him warm and give small amounts of water as often as possible.
try offering a little boiled chicken or tuna see if he can hold that down but he mainly needs the water to keep him from dehydrating.

If you call your vets the will have an emergancy number you can call.

It could be down to the shots he has had as they do make cats/dogs ill sometimes.

Your kitty needs to be seen by a vet-most vets have the number for an emergency animal clinic that sees patients on an urgent basis. Some antibiotics will give urine a strong odor-but so could a hundred other things-hope your kitty is on the road to recovery!

WE MADE IT TO THE VET TODAY...THE DOCTOR REALLY DIDN'T HAVE MUCH OF AN ANSWER FOR US..THE KITTY HAS LOST 3 POUNDS IN THE LAST WEEK FROM THROWING UP, SO THEY DID GIVE HIM SOME FLUID SHORTS. HE ALSO GAVE HIM A SHOT OF B12 I THINK IT WAS TO HELP HIM GAIN AN APPETITE. HE COULDN'T SEE ANYTHING WRONG WITH HIM..NO FEVER, VISABLE INFECTION..NOTHING..SO HE TOOK SOME LAB WORK AND WILL GET BACK TO US TOMMORROW. THE FLUIDS SEEM TO HELP A BIT..HE ACTUALLY PURRED AT ME! STILL PRETTY SLUGGISH THOUGH AND HASN'T ATE ANYTHING, BUT HE WATER IS STAYING DOWN. THANKS FOR ALL YOUR REPLYS!

Hi, Thats great news that he is keeping water down that way he is getting fluid into his body.

i know it sounds silly but if the weather keeps changing animals become depressed and upset one of my dogs is like that if one minute its raining then the sun comes out she will go depressed and go off her food but she does drink but only puppy formula.

Hopefully the bloodwork will show nothing wrong with your kitty and he is just having a few off days.
Keep us posted of his progress.

Awww, I'm so sorry. He probalby had an infection internally or something.

I know this is a bit late, but I've learned that once a male cat sprays, they don't stop even if you neuter him. So thats probably what the horrible smell was. If it was musty that was it.

If if had more of a vinegary/amonia smell to it, he more than likely had an internal infection.

Again I'm so sorry to hear of your sudden loss.
