I had to adopt my mom's cat becasue she went into a nursing home. Baby, my mom's cat is my cat's mother. She was an outdoor cat and kind of wild. My cat is indoor/outdoor and he is pretty mellow. Since Baby arrived she has been living in the basement but I have yet to let her go outside. I have done all the protocal to introduce the two but Baby hates our cat and has attacked him several times. She comes up to the main area of the house and if he is around she chases him out or into his room. Will she ever like him. I hate to get rid of her but she is terrorizing my cat who has always been mellow. He is now a bit nervous and has to look out for her all the time. She bit him and drew blood 3 times already. help !! what can I do to make her like him? Is there hope for these two? I really want to keep her but she is making it very hard for my cat.

There are lots of things you can do to help your cats get along. Firstly I would suggest rubbing the two cats with each others scent, use an old towel and rub the two cats, then when the towel has the scent of both cats on it rub them again. Then leave the towel with the cat who is causing the problems.
You have to realise that they are sorting out their dominance issues so a bit of fighting isn't anything that you wouldn't expect but you can lessen it.
Also feed them in different rooms to start with but gradually bring their bowls closer together so that they start to be able to see each other when they are eating.
Lastly I would highly recommend a pheromone room deoderizer. Feliway make one and they are great, they give off 'happy smells' for cats and help them to calm down.
With a bit of perseverance I am sure you can get your cat to tolerate each other if even they won't be the best of buddies!

Merry Xmas and Good Luck
