Last night my 5 year old Henry was playing and then all of a sudden sarted weezing heavily and then started to briefly gag. He seemed off put for a minute, then went back to running aound with his toy.

I know with hairballs the cat seems to gag, getting ready to vomit, but this was a hollow weezing. Is that still a reaction to a hairball? He does have pet grass in his room.

like I said this lasted aa couple of minutes, I was very worried and ready to whisk him away to the vet.

He is eating, pooping and playing normally. Am I worrying too much?

Sometimes cats seem like they have a hairball but it doesn't come up, that sounds like what happened to your cat. If he is otherwise normal and it only happens occasionally, I wouldn't worry about.

I agree with Fleafly.

If Henry starts to do this a lot then it could be something else.

Annibell and Fleabag do this alot, well Annibell doesn't anymore since she's crossed the rainbow bridge, but Fleabag still does ALOT!! SOmetimes he'll caugh it up and sometimes he doesn't.

Just watch him so he doesn't choke. We give him pet grass along with a hairball laxative called "laxatone" this helped him a whole bunch! You just rub about a dime size portion on his food or leg and let them lick it off. He'll injest it without a problem that way.

GOod luck.

My cats like the hairball stuff and will lick it right off of my finger. They think it is a treat and crowd around trying to get some. I actually use petromalt, but it is the same thing as laxatone.
