The day before yesturday, I went to the petstore and bought 2 very beautiful kittens, One female and one male. I got the male one because it was already getting big, its about 2 months and most people don't like big cats because they think they are not "cute" enough and i usually give animals a chance so i got him (name is boxer, further read on why) and I got a girl which is who im having the most problems with.
Both cats that i bought from the petstore were sick especially the girl. Boxer, One of his eyes was sort of watery and he had a runny nose. Given these are my first 2 cats, I took pictures and showed my friend and he said that he might have a pink eye so I decided to leave him be and maybe it will get better.

The next day (keeping in mind 24 hours have not passed) I could not take it and I took him to the vet where the vet told me that he had a cold and his eye is infected!! She said if it had any shots and i told her that the pet store clerk told me that it was dewormed, had its shots but need some more and gave me an appointment to go back on the 1st along with a blue booklet folder thing with the type of shots they both have gotten. She and somewhat angry at the store because they did not inform me about all this in a way where i actually know whats going on. The total cost was 54 Dollars for him and they did the de-worming for free. I also told her that I got another female kitten and it was not eating and she looked at me in a very serious face and said thats he hated to do this but if i could bring it in that she will take a look at it. I of course, concerned about mitchi (Her name), said Yes, got home dropped off boxer (got his name because of the eye ) and picked up mitchi and went back to the vet.

She was dehydrated, has a eating disorder and has to be force fed with stage 1 baby food consisting of meat and also given vitamins; also force fed, She is under weight and needs kept in a warm blanket because her body temp is below normal. This of course taken care of but Im concerned that She is not 1 month old like the store sais that she is just WEEKS old and was pulled from the mother at a very VERY early age. She does not play around, She still is getting the hang of walking (her back legs are not synchronized, she wabbles them and Does not eat... at All. Total cost, $90 but they lowered to $70 since im saving both cats lives here and felt sorry for me. I went back to the pet store and showed her the medical bills and told her what happened and she said that It is NOT true, she WAS eating, She was not dehydrated and that the vet was trying to take my money, I told her that I wanted my money back (about $100) I she sold me sick cats that i love dearly now and Its not fair for me to carry this on my sholders.

She said that I would have to bring the cats back to get a refund (HELL F'ng NO!!!), and why didnt I come to her etc. I got in a heated argument with her because I was VERY worried about mitchi because She could of died and I told her if she was gonna give me part of the money i spent on the medical bills. She said No, That the cats were healthy, There was nothing wrong and they both had their shots etc. I am not taking steps and im going to sue her in small claims court over the medical bills, as a small amount of money for the well bieng of the small cat. (future visits to the doctor etc,) I am also reporting her for animal cruelty for neglecting the animals etc and I am going to do everything in my power to shut her store down for that she doesnt harm any more lives for animals can't talk. I know it sounds silly but i belive it's the right thing to do.

Any help/tips as of to force feeding syringe the vet provided, Introducing mitchi to regular cat food and so forth, as well as legal advice is hightly appreciated.
Picture of Boxer, Just minutes after he got home Born Sep 6, doing very well after visit.

WOW. First of all your kitties are CUTE! Congrats and hang in there!

Not really sure where to begin here.....it sounds like you are very upset, and you should be. I really dont have any legal advice for you, but I know most pet stores and shelters do have a "policy" that they do NOT guarntee the health of their animals, most of the time you take them "as is". Did you look into this? Not sure if you did this already or not, but I would have done some research on the petstore before you bought the kitties, are they are reputable place? What have you heard about them? Also, about your vet, is he/she reputable also? Have you researched your vet also?

I had to force feed my kitties thru a srynige also when they were sick. The only thing I can recommend is that you give them a little at a time. Check with your vet and see what they say. Keep us posted on their progress, just hang in there, give them lots of love, and all the medical attention they need.

i also find that if the food is not entirely liquid, kind of like the mush from canned food, you can spread it onto the cat's paws and usually, if they are not really sick, they will HAVE to lick it off. they can't stand it but it gets them to eat.

I've bought a few thing from there and the majority have not turned out so good but those were small animals like hamsers etc. I bought a guinie pig the other day for a friend and when i took it home it was drenched in its own urine and smelled really bad.
The vet that i took them too took place in the 911 k9 vet team thing and have a picture of them in ground zero etc so I think they are a very honest and reliable source.

The male kitten definately has an infected eye. It looks like his left eye might even be a little smaller than the right eye.

The girl can not be much younger than a month. 1 month is only 4 weeks. She is at least 3 weeks judging by the picture. They have no business selling cats younger than 6 anyway.

Legal advice: Wait until you have paid all of the medical bills and then take them to small claims court. Court will not award you an amount for future medical bills unless you know exactly how much it will cost, i.e. the kitten needs a surgery that costs 800.00. Also, do you have other cats in the house? If you do the pet store will claim that they got sick from the other pets. If you do have other cats you will have to establish that you kept the kittens separated from the other cats, which hopefully you would have done. If you don't have other cats, that will help your case. Since you took him to the vet the next day, the vet can attest to the fact that he had the infection at the pet store. Plus the pictures that you took when you got him home show that he had an infection. Make sure to take the pictures and the medical records from the vet to court. If the vet can go with you that would help your case even more.

Eye infections are very common. It should clear up with some cream and or eye drops.

For feeding the little girl I have two suggestions. 1) Try some nutrical, it is a high protein vitamin paste. Much easier than force feeding with a syringe. 2) If she really is that young try giving her KMR or another kitten formula. She probably hasn't learned to eat solids yet. Start her off by getting her to lap it up if she will do that, or feed it to her with the needleless syringe. Once she laps it up you can slowly mix it with soft food. Also leave hard kitten food down all the time b/c she will get curious and start eating it.

these are my first 2 cats and they are the only cats in the house. She is always near me and seems not to get away and even sleeps near at night. (next to my pillow or something) I am giving her a vitamin mineral paste thing called Felovite along with the baby food and after that some water. (all through the syringe because she is still not going near real food. She see's boxer eating away happy and I put her next to him and she looks at him eat but does not try to emulate him.
The doctor said not to give her formula because it might give her diarrhea but we might have no choise if by the fouth day she is not eating correctly.

I am having trouble finding out how many syringe of food to give her.

!!!! SUCCESS, JUST NOW MY MOM TOLD ME THAT SHE HAS SHOWED HER HOW TO EAT ON HER SELF.. SORT OF MY MOM IS TAKING WET FOOD AND SPOON FED HER AND SHE FOUND OUT THAT IT WAS INDEED FOOD AND STARTED EATING AWAY THE FOOD THAT WAS IN MY MOMS HAND UNTIL SHE HAD HER FILL AND IS ALSO DRINKING WATER!!! (I took pictures and a short clip and will post it within the next hour)

Oh and boxers eye is much better, the vet gave me a cream i forgot to mention in earlier post

She eats by herself but has no idea what food, I have to force her a sample and THEN she finds out its food. Stopped drinking water so I force some into her to keep her from getting dry
