![]() ![]() ![]() I was thinking of switching my cats to the Wellness brand of food. But, my 12 year old Maine Coone has IBS and the vet has had me feeding him the Hills Prescription WD food. He's done well on it, but I can only get it at the vet and it's expensive. He also takes one tablet of prednisone every other day to control his IBS...and pred does great in controling it. I have heard the Hills has lots of filler in their food, but that the Wellness is more meat, less fillers. I was thinking of switching him to the senior food. Any thoughts? Do you think a change like this might be bad for his IBS? If it makes it flare up, I just increase his medicine for a couple of days and it settles it down. rae IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() Have you checked out the price of Wellness? Its a wonderful brand IMO but its one of the most expensive cat foods around here at $15 for 5 lbs. I don't have any experience with IBS but I think Fleafly might be able to give you some advice/opinions. IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() I put some advice in my post about IBS and food. I would look at the fiber content. Most food is around 4%. The light formulas and hairball formulas have anywhere from 7-10% fiber. Price is a big consideration. How much is the Hills, and how much would you like to spend? IP: Logged |
