I have only posted on here a few times and only recently have I been inroduced to this board - I love it. Well I have to tell you all a story cause it was so cute. . .

We got our first snowfall of the season last night through this morning and Nina, my 7 month old black domestic short hair sat at the window watching for hours . . . in a complete trance.

(some quick background info - Nina LOVES water to the point I have to keep the toliet cover closed or she plays in the bowl - I mean entire body soaking wet, if I fill a bath tub she swims, if the water is on in a sink she plays in it and yes, a few mornings a week she, completely on her own, gets in the shower with me)

This morning I went outside to shovel and while I was out there Nina sat at the front doors (which are french with windows) watching me and crying - loudly. So I thought to myself - hm . . . went in, got her leash, brought her outside and wouldn't you know, she played in the snow in my front yard while I shoveled and cleaned off the car. She is a complete and total trip. The vet says she is going to grow out of this enjoyment of water, but I hope not - it is too cute!!!

Of course I wasn't thinking and didn't take a picture but we are supposed to get more snow so maybe I'll take her out again. We didn't stay out there long cause I don't want her to get sick - but I couldn't help it - she was tooooo cute - all black and covered in snow - what a site to see!!!

I bet my cats wouldn't know what to do with snow. They love watching it from inside but I don't think they'd play in it. They aren't fans of water. That's funny that your cat is into it. I wonder if your cat would grow out of it when each time near water, it's a positive exerpience.

In the six years of my most recent cats, they have all gotten baths maybe twice. My husband and I came away bleeding from it! We survived, though.

When I was a kid we had a cat who would swim in my parents pond and get into the bath tub with me.
She's 16 yrs old now and still plays in the toliet. However she dosent venture into the bath tub anymore which is something my mom is very happy about. She didnt like sharing her soak with the cat

That is really cute! My Arnie and Abby are almost 6 months old, and they woke up this morning to HUGE snowflakes falling. I swear Arnie was going to break the window to chase the snowflakes. Both of them took a flying leap and landed on the window sill in my bedroom, and they sat there for an hour trying to 'paw' at the snowflakes....it was hillarous!!!!

My cats like to balance on the edge of the tub while I shower, occasionally they fall in and I laugh while they try to get out at fast as they can. One of my cats, Moo, actually likes to sit between the tub and the shower curtain while I shower. He also loves to go outside, so I take him out with me when he wants to go. He likes the snow, he paws at it and eats it. He wanted to go out the last time it snowed, but we had 18 inches on the ground so I told him he couldn't go out b/c I wouldn't be able to find him. I would have had to look for the black tail sticking out of the snow!

fleafly: My Rory does the same when I take a shower. Sites between the shower curtains and sometimes pokes his head through to look at me.

Rory also likes water! Not surprising since Gatorgirl's Nina does as well. Gatorgirl is my sister and Nina and Rory are brother and sister! Funny that they share the water thing. Although Rory doesn't get as excited about it as Nina does. I doubt he'll want to play in the snow. Although he did take a little voluntary swim in the tub 2 nights ago.

The snow has yet to fall here (I live in MA VERY close to the NH border....our forcast is 15-30 inches, maybe more!!!! ugh!) but I'll let you all know how Sam and Rory react to it!
