Im not sure why, but my cat has been urinating in the basement (where her litter box is) outside of her litter box. The thing is she only does it on piles of clothing and laundry. These are not more than 10 feet from her litter box , which we keep very clean. She is 7 years old and has only done this the last 2 years or so. We have 2 children ages 3 and 2. Could it be jealousy or anger or something else? I could use any help or suggestions.
Thanks, Matt

My cats will pee on clothes or piles of towels and stuff that I leave lying around. They don't pee on the floor just on things I leave lying around. I think they are telling me they don't like the mess. I don't leave stuff on the floor anymore. My house is cleaner and my cats don't pee. Can you not leave the piles down, maybe try putting them in a hamper with a lid on it.
