Hi
I have an eight years old domestic short hair male cat. Last night when I got home I noticed there is something wrong with him. he didnt come to the door and even when I called him over for food he still didnt move. I picked him up and his body felt very soft as if he is not using any of his muscles. Few hours later, he managed to get up and move to living room. Then he started to vomit. Later I found out that he already vomited in few other places.

Next morning (This morning) I took him to the vete, his heart rate was fine and his temp was at 38.5 C.

He sent me back home and asked me to return if the cat doesnt get any better.

right now is around midnight and he is still very weak. He has vomited several times today and last one contained a little fresh blood.

He is so weak that he hardly walks or even stand up.

I am not sure what to do.

what can cause this problem? 3 days ago he was healty and very active.

Any feed back is welcomed.

Thanks in advance.

If the only obvious symptom is vomiting, then it really could be a number of things. but, vomiting blood sounds extrmemly dangerous for kitty. definitely bring him back to the vet..or if you feel this vet was inadequate in the check-up, try a different one. Kitties can go downhill super fast, so try to bring him as soon as you can..

Does your cat go outside? My first thoughts are that he has gotten into something toxic...is there anything in your home that he could have gotten into?

Update:

Last night it got worse. He was in pain all night. he could not even move. I took him to vet at 3am. They took a X-ray and blood sample. Blood sample should failed or failing kiddney. The X-ray should an object in the stomach. We think it is a chicken bone. He was extremely dehydrated.
They are going to give him IV for next 24 hours to hydrate him first.

I dont know if he is going to survive. So far it has costed me $500 and I dont even have a job

I'm so sorry about your kitty. Ask you vet about a payment program for the bills if that is possible. I hope he survives.

2 hours ago my cat passed away..

I have never felt so bad in my life. I have had him for 9 years. He was part of the family. my home feels so empty without him

Rest in peace.

I am so sorry to hear about your loss. Cats are as much a part of our families as people. I understand how you are feeling, I lost my baby kitty a month ago whom I had also had for 9 years.

I am SOOOO sorry..... It is the most heartbreaking thing anyone can go thru.
Just know your kitty is in a better place now and how much he loved you.
