I have two 6 year old female cats, both are not spayed, and both still spray all over the house (one cat more than the other) My mother is afraid of getting them spayed because they are now older, but wants to know that if they are spayed, will the spraying stop or continue out of habit? Any information is appreciated! Thanks!

I have never waited that long to my cats fixed but i did have a cat i got when she was almost 2 and she had a habit of spraying in areas and after i got her fixed she had stopped completely. I would recommend getting them done, and i would just hope they know to stop.

At 6yrs old I don't think they are too old to be spayed...call your vet and inquire about it. Spaying should stop the spraying or at least greatly reduce it. You can also try Feliway if the spraying continues after they are spayed. Good luck.
