I just moved from OR to CA and I brought my cat along. He is an outdoor/indoor cat about 7 months old. While I was packing for the move to California my cat Sammy started pooping around the apartment but now he is doing it in my new apartment. But he is using his litter for peeing purposes but is just pooping all over! Any advice about why he would be doing this and how I may get him to stop?

Sounds like it could be stress related. Once he adjusts to his new surroundings the behavior should stop. In the meantime you might try a Comfortzone plug-in or Feliway to deter him.

Your cat is probably unhappy about the move. Cat's don't adjust to change very well. Make him as comfortable as you can in the new place and pay a lot of attention to him. If the new place is smaller or has less windows, he might not like that. Just do what you can to make it a happy place for him.
