Author | Topic: older cat licks but will not eat - but hungy |

![]() ![]() I have an 18 yr old cat who otherwise is very healthy according to vet but about 6 months ago quit eating hard food, and slowly stopped eating soft - she licks but will not eat it. Anyone else who has this issue with an answer - would appreciate advise. IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() Has the vet checked his mouth? Inflamed gums, mouth ulcers or rotten teeth could cause a cat to not want to eat. You may be able to get him to eat better by really watering down some canned food...making it into a gravy so that he can lick it up rather than having to chew. Good luck. IP: Logged |
