Hello, I need help...If anyone has had this problem, please let me know if anything worked. I have a seven week old kitten that I have bottle raised since he was a day old. He is two thirds the size of his littermate. His lil belly always looks bloated and his stool is a grayish color. My vet thinks it may be something with his liver. He is very active, plays constantly and eats well....I am giving him bovine colostrum three times a day. Has any one ever encountered this problem before? Please help with advice as I want this little fellow to have a long and happy live. Thanks.

I can't really help, sorry. But I wanted to say that I have a kitten and my friend has a kitten from the same litter, and my baby is 3 times the size of hers. They can grow all different sizes, and you really can't compare them. It sounds like you are doing a great job. Most kittens have bloated little bellies. It sounds like the vet should do some more research, if he really has a liver problem you need to get it taken care of. You might want to go to another vet, and get a second opinion. Good luck!

YVONE, i raised a bottled feda kitten, from a few days old, she looked the same way, her tummy was bloated and I remember her poops were strange She wasnt sick and when she got older the bloating went away, it i\has been so long ago, but the bloating probably lasted a few months and she grew to be a healthy but very small cat.
Good luck

HI, Bloating and discoloured stools can be a sign of worms, Have your kittys been wormed? They can be wormed from 4 weeks of age with a kitten wormer some people worm them at 2 weeks. If there is a liver problem your vet needs to have it sorted now and do more checks to determine if that is the problem.

Hand fed kittens usually have bloated Stomachs Due to the milk given from the mother is thinner than that of a substitute milk. But i would have the vet have another look at him and do test to find out the problem if there is one..

keep us posted

Hi again, I have done some checking on the net, and from what i have found the symptoms your cat has is not liver problems.

I have attached a link for you to read about it to see if any of this matches what your kitty has hope its of some use to you...
