Hi all a lot of my post are gone due to a problem with the server. The last post I had was called "Which Is Better" which I had been seeing problems with one of my male cats using the flea product Advantage.

Fleafly I believe it was mentioned that if I am seeing fleas after using the Advantage then fleas are in the house like in the carpet and elsewhere and should use a flea bomb.

My reply was I have hardwood floors thoughout the house 1900 square feet and find it hard to believe that fleas can live on hardwood. I have vacuumed the throw rugs and rugs throughout the house as well as the sofa's etc. I have washed the bedding where all the cats sleep in hot water and soap.

I have seen on the market a product from Raid that helps kill fleas and their eggs but not sure if it works. You spray it on carpets or rugs and furnature etc., and being I don't like the bomb I would use this in replace of the bomb since I don't have carpet.

Anyway, lately I have not seen anymore fleas on the brush after brushing him but he still scatches. Could it be allergy of some sort that is causing him to scatch like this without it being fleas? The Vet seems stumped.

So if anyone has lost any of their post or profiles according to the administrator it is due to problems with the server and if this shows up then I guess its getting back to normal.

I've lost alot of my posts too. It seems to me, the only posts being deleted are the ones that are asking for suggestions or recommendations about certain products. I think the admins of this site are deleting them, because they feel its advertising. They've told me it was a server error too many times, but it's awful strange that the posts referring to specific products keep mysteriously disappearing.

Im not sure about the missing posts because im new....
Though i do have an idea as to why your cat is still scratching. It comes as a habit after a while for the animal. Its the same way with human.... example. If you get poison ivy you scratch alot then after you get rid of it you will find your self scratching your skin still because you got so used to being itchy.....
I hope she stops soon but for now hes just gotta get used to being itch free.

I was wondering too if after a while a cat can form a habit of scatching if all signs of fleas are gone. I'm going to keep an eye on his behaviour and see what happens.

As far as my post being deleted and it being troubles with the server.

I would really hate to think that my question concerning a product that I mention in my post while using it on my cat is being deleted because the administrator feels its advertising then in my opinion if this is true this board fails in its purpose as a pets lover board and I will go elsewhere with my concerns.

It won't hurt my feelings one bit if they wish to delete every post I put up if I mention any product concern I may have while using it on my pet(s).

Simply put the health of my pets is more important and I'm sure anyone here who post would agree too with your own pets while using a product you may have concerns with.

All for now.

Mandy & Mac,

You are thinking WRONG.

We had a major server outage (last couple of days) and some posts/User accounts were affected. (Posts made during the outage were lost as well as the user profiles of the users who made them).

We apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused. These things happen and we are now in the process of ensuring no further surprises of this kind.

Please be advised that we have no policy of deleting posts that mention pet products unless the post is truly commercial sounding (we are pretty relaxed re this matter and you can browse thousands of other posts made here and see for yourself that many of them DO mention pet products as well as links to many other online resources).

Furthermore, we are currently checking you complaint with all other site moderators.

Cheers
Auspetian

I am truly relieved for sure administrator and as I said in my post I would hate to believe my post were being deleted because of me having a concern about a product I was using and mentioning its name.

I really didn't feel this was true but would hate it to be true was what I was trying to express.

Yes, I understand about product advertising and that policy and your right to delete post that sound like true advertising.

Message boards anywhere have to have rules of some kind to keep order and I will respect that as well as the other policies of this board.

As far as the quality of Auspet the help one gets and I speak for myself I have not found better and feel very comfortable posting my thoughts here to hopefully help others in need.

Also, thank you for seeking other pet site moderators about my complaint. This shows a true willingness to help when questions arise when product use is in question, a true pets lovers message board.

Have a great day!

Mac :-)
