Hello I have a male cat that is a little over a year old. We found him a little over a year ago when he was a kitten and took him in. The other day we gave him the feline rabies shot and the feline 3way shot. When I got home from work a few minutes ago my husband said he has been foaming at the mouth and he said it smells horrible. We put himin another so he wouldn't be around the kids in case he is contagious. But the local vets arent open on Sundays and I have no idea what to do? Has anyone else ever had this problem?

Im assuming he is having a negative reaction to one or both of the vaccinations. You gave him the shots yourself? Do you have an emergency vet in your area? Give the ER vet a call and see what they think.

Yes we gave him the shots ourselves. I called the vet and left a message for them to call me back. One other thing I forgot to mention is his teeth are chattering and he's making a strange sound. I am very scared we are very attached to this cat!

Your cat is having an allergic reaction to one or all of the shots you gave him. Why didn't a vet give the shots to your kitty? Do you live on a farm? Who instructed you as to the correct dossage? Do you have an emergency vet that is opened 24 hours that you can call on the phone, if not in your town, then in the neighboring town?

both shots combined sounds like he is having an allergic reaction to one of them i never advice on giving shots to animals unless it is done by a professional as they know the correct dosage and wether shots will react with another try giving him a few drops of water every 30mins till you get hold of the vet as this should help with the situation the cat foaming he will be using up his body fluid if you cant get hold of your vet try another one all vets should have an emergancy number to contact in an emergancy keep us posted and hope he is ok

Update on Marvin

We went to a closer vet about 30 miles from here that someone suggested! Doc says that it was just something he ingested and that its not a reaction to the shots and he will be fine. We have to feed him with a syringe every 15 minuest until he starts eating on his own...
Thank you All
Jacky and Marvin
