![]() ![]() ![]() We got an adult cat from the local animal shelter, and he has a tattoo in his right ear. Our vet has told us that it is probably a Breeder's tattoo. The cat looks to be either a maine coon, or a norwegian forest cat. Any suggestions on how to track down a breeder from a tattoo number? We'd like to find out what kind of cat we have. IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() Try national tattoo services such as the National Pet Registry (914) 679-2355 or Tattoo-a-Pet (800) TATTOOS. IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() Is the tattoo a number or a letter? One of the cats I adopted from the SPCA had an "N" (for neutered) tattooed in his ear and a number tattooed across his inner thigh. The strays that I took to the SPCA to be spayed/neutered received an "S" (for sterilized)in their ear and a number tattoo acroos their inner thighs also. Are you sure it was'nt the humane society that tattooed his ear? Just a thought. IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() It is a six-digit letter/number combination, and the Humane Society here doesn't do tattoos. They said when I got him that when they picked him up (he was on the street) he already had it. IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() pegerrella, I would check with the pet registery on the earlier post. It is now becoming more common to id using a tatto, then implanted chips. Honybear IP: Logged |
